Farouk CHI 1 Inch Ceramic Flat Hairstyling Iron
These hair straighteners are legendary – I’d heard my friends rave about them, just like I had with GHDs a few years previously. These CHI straightening irons were supposedly “the best thing ever” – for straightening and curling your hair. As they weren’t expensive, and I’d spent a bit less than I thought I was going to one weekend, I decide to buy them on impulse… and I’m really glad i did!
They arrived in 2 days – a very fast delivery from Amazon and I tried them out that evening. There is only one heat setting – 356 degrees F but I don’t find that a problem, and my hair is very thick, long and curly. These straighteners heat up very fast – 20 seconds and they were ready to go. The ceramic plates were easy to glide through my hair, straightening impressively well and getting rid of the frizz too. My hair was super straight after the first time, I didn’t have to redo any sections. After 20 minutes I had salon straight, super smooth and frizz-free hair. What a great feeling! My hair also stayed straight until I washed it again – with no need to re-straighten in between washes.
The swivel cord is neat – you don’t have to keep unwinding the cable, and it’s also really long – longer than my hairdryer. The edges of the ceramic plates are slightly rounded, so they work great if you want to flip the ends of your hair up.
I recommend these straighteners to anyone, but especially people with long and thick hair – because you don’t have to go over areas of your hair again and again. I also don’t have to use any hair straightening product with this straightener – so as well as looking great, my hair also feels lovely to touch – well when it’s cooled down!

I just bought a chi.. this chi to be exact. It’s the goddess of all flat irons. I had a cheap Wal Mart hair iron. I used to have to wash my hair, take it into section, blow dry with a round brush THEN go over every piece of hair with my cra**y flat iron, again and again. And when I went outside, if it was rainy or humid, forget it, my hair would fuzz out all over again. I don’t have curly curly hair more like really thick, frizzy, wavy sorta curly but not hair. Totally NOT cute. With the chi, my hair is super soft and looks like I was born with perfectly straight beautiful shiny hair. HA! Now I shower, towel dry and take the chii to it.
